He died

Apparently my brother George died last night. Got an email from C this morning that I did not see until we got home this afternoon. Was very brief - "George passed last night. There will be no service." Very short. I know C was going to get a ride up to see G and R and let us all know what was happening. I think this has to be very rough for C - he was obviously the closest - and his parents and closest sibling are now gone.

Removed A as a team member - not sure she needs to be a team member to add a comment. Apparently she had to sign up as a blogger to add her comment -- but maybe that was becasue I had added her as a team member. I'll try again with her status as team member deleted.

Here we are in Mississippi

Traveling back now! Maybe 480 miles on the car, so about halfway. Lots of time in bookstores in Tyler. No new tricks tried on the blog today - but did notice the comment from A.

It's been a rough two days

Worked very hard at V's yesterday - fixing things, shopping, chinese lunch out - hour drive both ways to her place - fixing an old printer, working with old Windows 98 machine, fixing her DVR and Dish setup. Weatherstripping and smoke alarms purchased and installed. And today working with another old printer (first time with a Canon) and another Windows98 system. Second printer not working the black - everything else fine. Need to ask Staples for another part and try to work the return. Dropped my camera yesterday with the zoom out and the mechanism is now bent (maybe broken) - will likely need to take it to Fuji or get another. And brother with liver cancer apparently too ill to appreciate or communicate with any visitors. Was considering trip to see him - now being discouraged to do so for him.

Experimented with changing links on the side of this blog. Started to add a counter but did not get to finish.

Supper last night was butter pecan ice cream and some brownies -- too late and too tired to do anything else. Possibly stalled my weight loss.

Too much caffeine?

Generally, coffee does not bother me much. But three cups of coffee (with cinnamon, which I enjoyed very much) seems to have done the job. I am wide awake here in the middle of the night.

How to change the time zone setting:
Go to your Dashboard and log in. Click on Change Settings. You will be in Basic Settings. Click on Formatting. Look down the page.and find Time Zone. Click the arrow at the end of the box And Select the corrrect time zone. Be sure to go to the bottom of the page and click on Save Settings.

Sad News

Learned today that one of my brothers has liver cancer and Drs. have given him 3 weeks to live. Not sure what to do - he's a long way from wher I live and from where I am now. Notified some of the family but will need to do more tomorrow.

Mexican restaurant

Name was La Hacienda in Greenville TX - not very authentic or nice to look at but outstanding food and wide selection, even a Greek salad was offered. I actually went back and met the owner and main cook.
